K4 3132 'Geet' still remembers (English poetry)

Hindi version 2772

Punjabi version 3131

I still remember when you came so near,
Your head on my shoulder, soft and dear.

Every word I said, you would agree,
Then tease me back so playfully.

Our love once bloomed, so bright, so high,
I recall the gossip, the jealous eye.

We played as kids in that old lane,
That house still echoes in my brain.

Some were stones, some soft like glass,
Your secret treasures still come to pass.

You'd sulk at things so small, so light,
And then annoy me with pure delight.

We'd meet on the roof, in silent grace,
"Geet" still remembers that lovely place.
