Whether you are low or high, no one else can decide,
You have to create your own measure, with confidence and pride.
Someone who does not possess the qualities you have,
How can they measure you by the standards that they themselves have?
Do not feel troubled by the judgments others make,
No one becomes high or low simply because of what others say.
You know your own qualities better than anyone else,
A virtue does not become a fault because others judge it for themselves.
One who lacks your qualities cannot understand your art,
Let them reach your level first, and then they may judge your part.
So never lose heart because of what others say,
You must measure yourself by your own standards, in your own way.
