ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ,  ਨੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਮਤਲਬੀ ਯਾਰ।

ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਚਾਹਿਆ, ਬਣੇ ਮਤਲਬੀ ਯਾਰ।

ਬਣਾਵੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣਾ,

ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮਾਰੀ ਝਾਤੀ, ਦਿਸੇ ਮਤਲਬੀ ਯਾਰ।

ਦੁਖੇਗਾ ਏ ਦਿਲ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਮਝਾਵੋ ਕਿੰਨਾ,

ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਣ ਜਦ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਮਤਲਬੀ ਯਾਰ।

ਫਸੇ ਉਲਝਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਦਿਸੇ ਹਲ ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ,

ਕੀ ਕਰੀਏ ਜਦੋਂ ਫਿਰ ਹਸੇ ਮਤਲਬੀ ਯਾਰ।

ਦਿਖਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਵਰਗੇ,

ਕੀ ਕਰੀਏ ਜੇ ਧੋਖਾ ਦਵੇ ਮਤਲਬੀ ਯਾਰ।

ਵੱਡੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਣੀ ਏ ਪੈਂਦੀ,

ਜਦੋਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਲੇ ਮਤਲਬੀ ਯਾਰ।

ਪਤਾ ਯਾਰ ਹੈ ਮਤਲਬੀ ਫਿਰ ਭਰੋਸਾ,

ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰੀਏ ਜਦ ਕੁਝ ਕਹੇ ਮਤਲਬੀ ਯਾਰ।

ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਜਦ ‘ਗੀਤ’ ਸਭ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਏ,

ਸਹੀ ਫਿਰ ਸੀ ਮੰਨਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਮਤਲਬੀ ਯਾਰ।

फँसे उलझनों में दिखे हल न कोई।

करें क्या कोई जब हँसे मतलबी यार।

दिखाये तुम्हें प्यार, बन के वो अपना।

ਆਪਣਾ ਡਰ ਭਜਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਲੋਕੀ,

ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੁਣ ਕਟਵਾਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ।

ਲੋਕ ਗਲਤੀਆਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਕਰ ,

ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਸਾਲ ਜੀਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਰੁੱਖ,

ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਤਿਤਵ ਗੁਆਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ।

ਸਮਝਦੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੋਕੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਨਾਦਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ,

ਕਿਉਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਗਲਤੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਚੁਰਾਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ।

ਨਿੱਕੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਗੱਲ ’ਤੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਲੋਕੀ ਛੱਟਪਟਾਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ।

ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ, ਤੇ ਕਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਟਦੇ ਰਹੋਗੇ ਦਸ?

ਸਮਝ ਆਵੇਗੀ ਉਦੋਂ ਜਦ ਦੇਖੋਗੇ,

ਰੁੱਖ ਘੱਟ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਲੋਕੀ ਜਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਆਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ।

ਤੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਹੀ ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ, ਜੋ ਨੇ ਬਸ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਤੇਰੇ ।

ਜ਼ਰਾ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਤੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਲੈਵੀਂ, ਜੋ ਨੇ ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ।

ਬਿਆਨ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਸਨ ਉਸਦਾ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਂ ਲੋਕੋ, ਜਰਾ ਵੇਖੋ।

 ਮੈਂ ਆਇਆ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ।

ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਭੱਜੇਂਗਾ, ਰੁਕ ਜਾ, ਜ਼ਰਾ ਮੁੜ ਵੇਖ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਵੀ।

ਬਹੁਤ ਤੂੰ ਥੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਏਂ ਹੁਣ, ਨਾ ਭੱਜ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ।

ਪਿਆ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਾ ਏ, ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਫਿਰੇ ਹਰਸੂ।

ਨੇ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਜਮਾਨੇ ਦੇ, ਇਸ ਇਕ ਝੰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ।

ਕੀ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੇ, ਦੱਸੋ ਇਹ ਲੋਕੋ।

ਕਿ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਜਮਾਨੇ ਦੇ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਝੰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ।

 

 

ਜੀ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਆਪਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਦੁਏ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਰ ਲਈਏ।

How can I describe her beauty, people, just look and see.

So many lines are standing, waiting behind my queen like me.

You do not know the burning pain that lives inside my chest.

I came running all the way, just for one holy sight, no rest.

How long will you keep running? Stop, turn back and see.

You are tired now, chasing this world endlessly.

The whole world runs after joy, searching everywhere.

Yet how many hidden sorrows ring behind that single sound so fair.

Can’t you see it on her face, if you look a little deep?

So many pains of this world behind that smiling sweep.

Why should we not love each other fully, O people, say?

What has ‘Geet’ really gained from all this fight anyway.

बदल जाता है पल में तू, करुँ विश्वास कैसे मैं।

 तू क्या है चाहता ,चाहत है क्या दरकार के पीछे।

नहीं इंसान तू आसानी से जो मान जाएगा।

कहीं ये चाल कोई तो नहीं‌ इक़रार के पीछे।

कोई गलती नहीं की उसने फिर भी कैसे हारा वो।

पता जाकर लगाओ कौन है इस हार के पीछे।

(पढ़ी हैं तुमने वो खबरें तुम्हारे सामने हैं जो।

ज़रा उनको भी तो पढ़ लो, जो हैं अखबार के पीछे।)

ब्यां हम हुस्न उसका क्या करें लोगो, जरा देखो।

लगी कितनी कतारें हैं मेरी सरकार के पीछे।

नहीं तुम जानते कैसी तड़प होती है सीने में। 

चला आया यहांँ मैं दौड़ता दीदार के पीछे।

 

कहांँ तक भागेगा रुक जा, जरा पीछे भी मुड़ कर देख।

 बहुत तू थक गया अब भागकर संसार के पीछे।

पड़ा पीछे जमाना यह खुशी है ढूंढता हरसू।

है कितने दुख जमाने के, इस एक झंकार के पीछे।

(तुम्हें क्या देखकर लगता नहीं है उसके चेहरे को।

लड़ा था युद्ध अर्जुन ने मिला जब ज्ञान गीता से।

कोई कुछ भी कहे हम जानते हैं मर्म गीता का।

हैं हम भारत के वासी और हमारा मान गीता से।

समझता तुच्छ था जो कृष्ण को मानव समझकर ही।

वही धृतराष्ट्र जाना कृष्ण हैं भगवान गीता से।

पढ़ो तुम पुस्तकें लाखों ही चाहे ज्ञान की खातिर।

मगर रहना न जीवन में,  कभी अनजान गीता से।

पढ़े तुमने हो चाहे कितने भी दीवान जीवन में।

पता होगा हैं कमतर वो, सभी दीवान गीता से।

समाया ज्ञान इस छोटे से ही इक ग्रंथ में इतना।

बने हैवान पाया ज्ञान तो इंसान गीता से।

फँसा हो कोई उलझन में, दिखाई दे न और मंजिल।

तो देना ज्ञान करके 'गीत' तुम गुणगान गीता से ।

““Bhimrao Ambedkar,” known as Doctor Babasaheb Ambedkar’s name,

Across the world, he earned respect, honour, and lasting fame.

Baba Ji was a scholar, a jurist, wise and bright,

An economist, politician, social reformer of light.

Father of the Constitution, maker of the Republic’s way,

A noble soul who fought for freedom every day.

Throughout his life, he fought against untouchability’s pain,

And wrote Waiting for a Visa from memories full of strain.

To give reservation to Dalits, he worked with honest aim,

And formed the “Bahishkrit Hitkarini Sabha” in justice’s name.

His wish to end the caste system remained firm and strong,

Though many political parties said his thoughts were wrong.

Ambedkar Ji held many high positions with pride,

And books were his true companions always by his side.

In Mumbai, he built a house called “Rajgriha” with care,

And stored fifty thousand books in his library there.

It was the world’s biggest private library at that time,

A treasure house of knowledge, precious and sublime.

In 1936, he published Annihilation of Caste so clear,

Criticising casteism and religious leaders without fear.

He left Hinduism and embraced Buddhism’s way,

And gave India its Constitution for a brighter day.

He was the first Indian to earn a doctorate in Economics with fame,

And wrote many important books that strengthened his learned name.

Administration and Finance of the East India Company,

Evaluation of Provincial Finance in British India,

The Problem of the Rupee: Its Origin and Its Solution,

His ideas also helped in RBI’s formation and evolution.

The thoughts he gave to the Hilton Young Commission stayed bright,

And helped shape India’s banking system with wisdom and insight.

His last book, The Buddha and His Dhamma, was completed with care,

Just three days before leaving this worldly affair.

Then on 6 December 1956, he went into eternal rest,

Leaving behind a noble legacy, forever the best.

ਕਰ ਸਕਿਆ ਨਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਜੋ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ਾਂ 'ਚ ਆਪਣੇ,

ਮਾਸ਼ੂਕ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਾਬ ਓਹ ਸਾਡੀ ਗ਼ਜ਼ਲ 'ਚ ਹੈ।

ਨੇੜੇ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਸਿਹਰਨ ਸੀ ਉਠ ਰਹੀ,

ਏਹਸਾਸ ਦਾ ਗੁਲਾਬ ਓਹ ਸਾਡੀ ਗ਼ਜ਼ਲ 'ਚ ਹੈ।

ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਿਆਰ, ਤੇ ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਸੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਮ,

ਤੇਰੇ ਏ ਮਖਮਲੀ ਗੈਸੂ ਜਦੋਂ ਉੱਡਦੇ ਹਵਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ,

ਲਗੇ ਇੱਦਾਂ ਚੁਨਰ ਲਹਿਰਾਉਂਦੀ ਏ ਜਦ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਢਲਦੀ ਹੈ।

Though filled with storms, my path is hard, yet I stand tall,

No matter how deeply the world may hurt when evening falls.

Someone once broke my tender heart with bitter calls,

Each word they said still cuts me deep when evening falls.

Your velvet hair that softly flows as night wind crawls,

Like some bright scarf that floats in air when evening falls.

Since you are far, your memory fills these empty walls,

ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਕੇ ਗ਼ਮ ਵੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਮਿਲਾ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ ਇਹ ਤੈਅ ਸੀ ਹੋਇਆ।

ਏ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਕੰਡੇ ਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ, ਰੁਲਾਵੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਏ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ।
