दूर देश मैं गई थी सबके साथ।
बहु मंजिला इमारत में गुजारी थी रात।
सुबह बालकनी में बैठे नीचे झांँक रही थी।
देखा सब लोगों में लगी है भागम भाग।
सब अपने आप में अकेले ही दिख रहे थे।
जैसे उनकी नज़रें ढूंँढ रही हों किसी का साथ।
कुछ देर बाद फिर जाते देखा मैंने,
दो सखियों को डाले हाथों में हाथ।
जोर जोर से हाथ हिला वो बातें कर रही थी।
चल रही थी डाल एक दूजे के हाथों में हाथ।
फिर उन में से एक ने ऊपर झांका।
देख ऊपर उसने फिर हिलाया हाथ।
वह ऊपर देख जोर जोर से हंँस रही थी।
उनको देख मैंने भी हिलाया हाथ।
पल भर में देश-विदेश की दीवारें गिर गई थी।
भाषा, सूरत, राष्ट्रीयता के फर्क ने भी छोड़ दिया था साथ।
मधुर संबंधों की इक नाजुक डोर ।
जैसे खींच रही थी हमको अपनी ओर।
हम अजनबी चाहे फिर कभी न मिलें।
पर एक खुशी को तो हम आपस में रहे थे बाँट।
बाहर से अलग पर अंदर से सब एक जैसे।
क्या हुआ जो भाषा, सीमा ने दिया है बाँट।
आखिर तो एक नूर से सब जग उपजया।
कौन भले कौन मंदें, सारे इस कुदरत के बंदे।

Bhu manjila imaarat mein gujaari thi raat.
Subah baalakani mein baithe neeche jhaannk rahee thee.
Dekha sab logon mein lagee hai bhaagam bhaag.
Sab apane aap mein akele hee dikh rahe the.
Jaise unakee nazaren dhoonndh rahee hon kisee ka saath.
Kuchh der baad phir jaate dekha mainne,
Do sakhiyon ko daale haathon mein haath.
Jor jor se haath hila vo baaten kar rahee thee.
Chal rahee thee daal ek dooje ke haathon mein haath.
Phir un mein se ek ne oopar jhaanka.
Dekh oopar usane phir hilaaya haath.
Vah oopar dekh jor jor se hanns rahee thee.
Unko dekh mainne bhee hilaaya haath.
Pal bhar mein desh-videsh kee deevaaren gir gaee thee.
Bhaasha, soorat, raashtreeyata ke phark ne bhee chhod diya tha saath.

I had gone to a far away country with everyone.
Spent the night in a multi-storey building.
Sitting in the balcony in the morning, I was looking down.
I see everyone is busy running around.
Everyone seemed to be alone.
As if their eyes were searching for someone's company.
After some time I saw leaving ,
Two friends holding hands.
They were talking while shaking their hands vigorously.
They were walking hand in hand.
Then one of them peeked up.
Looking up she waved her hand again.
She was looking up and laughing loudly.
Seeing her, I also shook hands.
In a moment the walls of India and abroad had fallen.
The difference of language, appearance and nationality had also left .
A delicate thread of sweet relationships.
As if was pulling us towards ourself.
As we strangers, may never meet again .
But we shared one happiness among ourselves.
Everyone is different from outside but same from inside.
What happened that language and border have divided us?
After all, the whole world arose from one light.
Who are good and who are bad, all are bound by this nature.
