Why do these signs keep changing so fast,
Why do our dear friends not ever last.
Today they seem a different cast,
Tomorrow their faces are shadows of past.
When once the ruling power is changed,
Then courts and darbars are also recast.
Who holds the stick, his rights are vast,
New claimers rise, old ones are past.
News lives only for a moment,
Each day fresh stories are quickly cast.
Those who held us with love,
Today their care fades away so fast.
Those we raised with affection,
Grow wings and fly, no longer they last.
Those we nourished with blood so,
Turn fruitful but forget their past.
“Geet”, those who had no place in the past,
Now rule with power that spreads so vast.
