दिन थे सुहाने वो रातें सुहानी गुज़ारी थी हमने जो साथ।

यह बात है उन दिनों की मिली नज़रें, आए जो हम तुम थे पास।

दिल आज शायर है, गम आज नगमा है,

       शब् ये ग़ज़ल है सनम ,

       ओरों के शरों को, ओ सुनने वाले,

       हो इस तरफ भी करम |

Kya main sunaoon tumhen ab kahaanee jo guzaree thee mujh par kabhee.

Dil ka tadapana kisee ne na dekha, mujhe dekhate the sabhee.

Din the suhaane vo raaten suhaanee guzaaree thee hamane jo saath.

Yah baat hai un dinon kee milee nazaren, aae jo ham tum the paas.

Kaata saphar jo tere saath hamane vo hamako rahega haan yaad.

Tum chaahe kitana bhee hamako bhulao rahenge sada ham to yaad.

Tumako saphar mein mile saathee aise chale sang jinake the tum.

Aur door se aah bharake vaheen pe khade rah gaye the sanam.

Milke chalo phir se kar le do baaten  vahee yaad phir se kar.

Ek baar phir ham  karen hausala chalane ko  saphar par.

Milana agar apanee kismat hua mil jaenge phir to sanam.

Na mil sake to  usee pahale vaale saphar laut jaenge ham.
