लोग देखे हैं बड़े जो थे सयाने निकले।
दाल रोटी अपनी घर से जो कमाने निकले।

कर्ज़ था मां-बाप का, उसको चुकाने निकले।
जिसने माना ही नहीं मां-बाप का कुछ कहना।
आज उनको सीख अपनी वो सिखाने निकले।
हाल ना मां बाप का पूछा कभी उसने अब।
कर दिखावा अपनी इज्जत को बचाने निकले।
कोशिशें की थी बड़ी आगे निकलने की पर
हर कदम पर ठीक उनके न निशाने निकले।
यह कहांँ उसको पता था, दर्द मुड़ आएगा।

Daal rotee apanee ghar se jo kamaane nikale.

Karz tha maan-baap ka, usako chukaane nikale.
Jisane maana hee nahin maan-baap ka kuchh kahana.
Aaj unako seekh apanee vo sikhaane nikale.
Haal na maan baap ka poochha kabhee usane ab.
Kar dikhaava apanee ijjat ko bachaane nikale.
