2920 Her eyes (English poetry)

That night, her eyes did not turn away,

Nor did she come up with words to say.

How could I look somewhere else, you see?

Her eyes hadn’t stopped looking at me.

If we were meant to meet, some way would show,

It wasn’t goodbye for life, we know.

If you wish to leave, then go ahead,

My life isn’t bound by your name, I said.

Our bond of lifetimes couldn’t just end,

It wasn’t our last goodbye, my friend.

How could I feel drunk without her sight?

She hadn’t poured her gaze that night.

Now “Geet” will struggle to live alone,

You left, yet a path to cope wasn’t shown.
