3247 Mahatma Gandhi (English poetry Song)

Wearing simple dress so plain, with a stick in hand,

Non-violence was seen in each word, so grand.

With peace he gave the nation freedom at last,

Who is there today with such spirit from the past?

With just a spinning wheel, he showed the way,

The British knew a leader had risen that day.

He never bowed down, nor begged, nor asked,

Who is there today with such spirit from the past?

He never stopped, nor bent, he worked with aim,

O Bapu, each Indian bows, taking your name.

The path of non-violence he held firm and fast,

Who is there today with such spirit from the past?

We offer flowers of faith to the soul so true,

For love of peace, every Indian stood too.

By Gandhi’s strength our nation stands steadfast,

Who is there today with such spirit from the past?
