3285 Don’t Think It’s Easy (English poetry)

The one you face today, my friend, don’t think it’s easy to defend,
To fight and win with courage strong, is not an easy end.

You’ve called your enemy to war, now think before you bend,
To stand your ground and never run,  is hard, my fearless friend.

The world’s deep troubles fill your heart, they twist, they never end,
To free yourself and still win peace, is tough, my dearest friend.

Someday you’ll rise beyond this storm, the clouds will surely bend,
But keeping calm in brighter days, is hard, you must defend.

When love began, you saw its fire, its pain that none can mend,
To leave that burning love behind, is not so easy, friend.

He gave his soul to cross the waves, his strength he did extend,
What he achieved today with toil, was not an easy end.

The hall is bright, the crowd is loud, all cheers begin to blend,
But if respect is lost in there, don’t sit, my noble friend.

When Geet gave love with all her heart, she didn’t just pretend,
She gave her soul, not took his own, love’s never easy, friend.
