A forest of berry trees stood all around,
A sacred place where blessings abound,
Adi Shankaracharya brought the idol with care,
From the Alaknanda, Shaligram so rare.
He placed the idol with devotion and fame,
And Badridham became the holy name.
In Satyug, Lord Vishnu, as legends say,
Did penance in Badrinath day after day,
Heavy snow and cold brought troubles severe,
Mata Lakshmi became a Badri tree near.
To protect Lord Vishnu from snow and storm,
She sheltered Him with her loving form,
Seeing her devotion, her love and care,
Lord Vishnu named Badridham, sacred and fair.
Nar Narayan worshipped here with devotion,
Shiva and Parvati prayed with deep emotion,
Adi Shankaracharya also prayed in this land,
Blessed by the divine, so peaceful and grand.
Ahilyabai Holkar offered a golden crown,
To honour the Lord of great renown,
She helped this lost shrine rise once again,
And spread its glory to every lane.
A holy land where faith will stay,
Where devotees come to pray,
A place of blessings, peace and charm,
Badridham keeps every heart warm.
