3161 Wall ( English poetry)

With struggle, just last night we broke that stubborn wall.

Then why today, dear, did you again raise up that wall?

With love, we filled the trench that lay between our hearts,

But now whose hate has poisoned all to build this wall?

The one we tried for years to bring down to the ground.

Just tell me now, how suddenly stood tall that wall?

If matters of the house stay in the house, it’s best.

Please save what’s left, don’t break the last of this weak wall.

One word I said, and voices rose against my voice,

So fast it rose, no time to think, just formed a wall.

We lived in peace, from childhood till our youth was gone,

Then why in age, between our hearts, has come this wall?

When cracks appeared between the brothers once so close,

All saw their home collapse beneath that broken wall.

If you would guard your home from those who wish it harm,

Then build, O Geet, both strong and high your guarding wall.
