3177 Mom Was Just Like Us (English poetry)

Book inauguration of Kai Rang zindagi ke -4

We never thought, not even one day,
Mom too was once like us in some way.
In her young days, full of cheer,
She played with friends she held so dear.

She ran around from here to there,
Jumping high, without a care.
She laughed out loud, she danced with glee,
In her home's yard, happy and free.

She must’ve looked so sweet and bright,
Glowing with charm in youthful light.
Many hearts she must’ve won,
Wearing flowers, facing the sun.

But now, how much has changed today,
That playful girl has gone away.
She stays so busy, day and night,
In your world, bringing you light.

She sits quietly, with so much grace,
No signs of dreams upon her face.
It seems she's left her world behind,
A different life, a different mind.

She doesn't think of her own way,
Duty has taken her joy away.
She wrapped herself in love so deep,
Her hopes now silently fall asleep.
