क़ाफ़िया आने रदीफ़ में
लगी दुनिया सभी को आज आपस में लड़ाने में।
हुई हालत न जाने कैसी इंसान की ज़माने में।
लगा उनको न इक पल भी था उसको तो मिटाने में।
लगे बरसों जिसे थे प्यार से हमको बनाने में।
न सीखा प्यार का इक पाठ भी उसने सीखाने पे।
उमर सारी बिता दी हमने उनको तो सिखाने में।
नहीं आसान ये लेती इम्तिहान है जिंदगी सबका।
बड़ी मेहनत है लगती जिंदगी सुख से चलाने में।
कभी तो बैठकर तू देख ले पल भर नज़ारा ये।
न गुज़रे "गीत" सारी जिंदगी यूँ आने जाने में।

Lagee duniya sabhee ko aaj aapas mein ladaane mein.
Huee haalat na jaane kaisee insaan kee zamaane mein.
Lga unako na ik pal bhee tha usako to mitaane mein.
Lge barason jise the pyaar se hamako banaane mein.
Na seekha pyaar ka ik paath bhee usane seekhaane pe.
Umar saaree bita dee hamane unako to sikhaane mein।
Nahin aasaan ye letee imtihaan hai jindagee sabaka.
Badee mehanat hai lagatee jindagee sukh se chalaane mein.
Kabhi to baithakar too dekh le pal bhar nazaara ye.
Na gujare "geet" saaree jindagee yoon aane jaane mein।
