याद में उनकी बहाता रहा आंँसू, पर वो।
खुल के जब तक न हंँसे छोड़ नहीं पाया मैं।
जा रही थी वो मेरी जिंदगी से दूर कहीं।
बिन ग़ज़ल उस पे लिखे छोड़ नहीं पाया मैं।
करना चाहा था अलग उसको ही मैंने जिसको।
चाह कर भी तो जिसे छोड़ नहीं पाया मैं।
जाने वाला तो गया था चला और मैं पीछे।
सोचता था कि किसे छोड़ नहीं पाया मैं।
जीना पड़ता है यहांँ "गीत" सभी को आकर।
ज़िंदगी बिन ये जिए छोड़ नहीं पाया मैं।

Dil ko vo aise janche chhod nahin paaya main.
Aannkhon mein aise base chhod nahin paaya main.
Thee tamanna vo kabhee door na jae mujhase.
Bin kahe baat use, chhod nahin paaya main.
Yaad mein unakee bahaata raha aannsoo, par vo.
Khul ke jab tak na hannse chhod nahin paaya main.
Ja rahee thee vo meree jindagee se door kaheen.
Bin gazal us pe likhe chhod nahin paaya main.
Karna chaaha tha alag usako hee mainne jisako.
Chaah kar bhee to jise chhod nahin paaya main.
Jaane vaale to gaya tha chala aur main peechhe.
Sochta tha ki kise chhod nahin paaya main.
Jeena padata hai yahaann "geet" sabhee ko aakar.
Zindagi bin ye jie chhod nahin paaya main.
