Even while staying close, no one feels near,
And even while far away, no one feels far here.
How can we know what hides in someone’s heart,
How can we tell if they’re helpless or not from the start.
We never truly know what others think inside,
Who will throw dust in our eyes, who won’t lie.
The world keeps moving, rushing ahead each day,
It feels no one needs another along the way.
Times have changed far more than we can see,
I don’t joke about this, not even slightly.
Parents try hard, yet feel they don’t please,
Children say, “We don’t need you,” with ease.
Who knows what future this world will hold,
This race of life doesn’t seem to stop or grow cold.
