People now turn away, don’t even stay,
Whispering words they never used to say.
We loved with truth, we broke no law,
Yet they twist it all, and find a flaw.
They preach of love, of peace and grace,
But mock us now, right to our face.
Since we gave our hearts, the world turned cold,
Their eyes grow sharp, their words grow bold.
They call love sacred, like a prayer,
Yet treat it wrong, so cold, unfair.
This world can’t stand the love we show,
It hurts us more than we let them know.
They try to kill love’s gentle flame,
But none can end this holy name.
We’re angels of love, oh listen dear,
Why has hatred come so near?
