2995 love's become a costly affair, (English poetry)

In this new age, love's become a costly affair,

To meet and greet, it's a burden to bear.

Young hearts now talk in cafes so bright,
For Majnu, paying the bill feels far from light.

We once laughed and spoke with glee,
But mending the wounds costs a hefty fee.

In moonlit nights, we'd long to converse,
But calling you then felt like a curse.

The pain of love doesn't let us rest,
Their anger made life a costly test.

When silent, all was in my control,
But words of love took a heavy toll.

If only I hid my heart's true desire,
Now showing my pain sets my soul on fire.
