2998 what’s my say (English poetry)

Whatever the state of my life, what’s my say?

The truth is whatever you wish to convey.

Even your tears are like pearls, so fine,
Who would care for these feelings of mine?

That lovely evening, when you walked away,
And the night that followed, still haunts my way.

I just pray for their joy, while I drown in pain,
My life’s a shower of sorrow, what’s to gain?

Your happiness will bring me peace, I swear,
Your gift of smiles is all I’ll share.

For you, I gave up all joys I knew,
In return, just charity was my due.

Saved their life; it was fate’s sweet play,
While 'Geet' bore the wound, what’s there to say?
