ਚਾਲ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਨਾ ਆਵੇ।
ਸੋਚ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਜੁਗਤ ਲਗਾਂਵੀ ।
ਫਿਰ ਪਾਸਾ ਤੂੰ ਸੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਆਵੀਂ ।
ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਹੈ ਇਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ।
ਕਿੱਥੇ ਤੱਕ ਕੋਈ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਨੱਸੇ।
ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਲ ਨਿਰਾਲੇ ।
ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਦੇਖੇ ਭਾਲੇ।
ਰੋਜ਼ ਕੋਈ ਨਵੀਂ ਚਾਲ ਚੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ।
ਕੋਈ ਜਿੱਤਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
ਜੋ ਹਾਰੇ ਮਾਯੂਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ।
ਜੋ ਜਿੱਤ ਜਾਵੇ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਮਨਾਵੇ।
ਸੁੱਖ-ਦੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਖੇਲ ਏਦਾਂ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ।
ਜੀਵਨ ਪਲ ਪਲ ਘੱਟਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ।

Kithē tak kō'ī pichē nassē.
Is dunī'āṁ dē khēl nirālē.
Nahīn kisē dē dēkhē bhālē.
Rōz kō'ī navī chaāl chal jāndā.
Kō'ī jittdā kō'ī haār kē jāndā.
Jō hāre māyoos hō jāavē.
Jō jittda jāvē jaśhan manāvē.
Sukh-dukh dā khēl ēdāṁ chaldā rahindā.
Jīvan pal pal ghaṭtdā rahindā.
