ਕਿਉਂ  ਰੁੱਸੇ ਓ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਥੋਂ, ਦਸੋ ਜ਼ਰਾ।

ਐਵੇਂ ਨਾ ਰੁੱਸੋ, ਹਾਲ ਦਿਲ ਦਾ ਦੱਸੋ ਜਰਾ।

ਖਿੜਿਆ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਏ ਫੁੱਲ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ।

ਕਿਉਂ ਛਾਈ ਇਸਤੇ ਖ਼ਿਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੱਸੋ ਜਰਾ।

ਬਲਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਓ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ।

ਅੱਜ ਕਿਉਂ ਬੁੱਝਿਆ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਦੱਸੋ ਜਰਾ।

ਗਮ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਹਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ  ਕੋਲ ਰੱਖੋ ਆਪਣੇ।

ਜੇ ਫੇਰ ਨਾ ਆਵੇ ਬਹਾਰ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ ਜ਼ਰਾ।

ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਮੋੜ ਤੇ ਦਿੱਸਣਗੇ ਰੰਗ ਕਈ।

ਚੁਣੋ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ, ਜੇ ਨਾ ਮਿਲਣ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ ਜਰਾ।

Kyon  russē ō tusīṁ maithōṁ, dasō zarā.

Aivēṁ nā russō, haāl dil dā dassō jarā.

Khidi'ā chearā lagadā ē phul vāṅgū.

Kyon chhā'ī is tē ḵẖizāṁ dasō jarā.

Balakhā'undē rahidē ō tusīṁ khuśī nāal hara vēlē.

Ajj kyi'uṁ bujhi'ā chehrā dasō jarā.

Gam chaḍ kē, hasi'ān nū  kōl rakhō āpaṇē.

Jē phēr nā āavē bahār, tāṁ mainū dasō zarā.

Zindagī dē har mōd tē disaṇgē rang ka'ī.

Chuṇō khuśī dē rang, jē nā milaṇ tāṁ mainū dasō jarā.

Why are you angry with me, tell me.

Don't get angry like that, just tell me what's in your heart.

A blooming face looks like a flower.

Please tell me the reasons for this.

Keep on burning oh, you with joy all the time.

Please tell me why you have a dull face today.

Leave the sadness, keep the laughter with you.

If spring does not come again, then tell me.
