ਛਟਪਟਾਉਂਦੀ ਏ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਇਂਵੇਂ ।
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਭ।
ਜ਼ਰਾ ਵੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਹਿੱਲਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦੀ ।
ਹਿਲ ਜਾਵਣ ਤਾਂ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਕਲੀਫ਼।
ਜ਼ਰਾ ਵੀ ਹਿੱਲੋ ਤਾਂ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੀ ।
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੁਝ ਬੋਲਣ ਤੇ ਜ਼ਖਮ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਨੇ ।
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਵੀ ਕੁਝ ਅਲੱਗ ਨਹੀਂ ।
ਇਨਸਾਨ ਵੀ ਏਦਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਭ।
ਦੰਦ ਮੁਲਾਇਮ ਤਾਂ ਜੀਭ ਵੀ ਬੈਠੀ ਚੈਨ ਨਾਲ।
ਸਰਮਾਇਦਾਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਏਹੀ ਹਾਲ।
ਟੁੱਟੇ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਿੱਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਜੀਭ ਦੀ।
ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਾਲਾਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਬੀਤਦੀ।

Chaṭapaṭā'undī ,e jindagī invēṁ.
Jivēṁ ṭuṭē dadāṁ dē vich jeebh.
Zarā vī marazī naāl hilaṇ nahīn dinde.
Hil jāve tāṁ dēndī hai takalīf.
Zarā vī hilō tāṁ zakhamī kar dindī.
Jivēṁ kujh bōlaṇ tē zakhama miladē nē.
Dunī'ā dī reet vī kujh alag nahīn.
Inasān vī ēdān nē jivēn dandān vich jeebh.
Danda mulā'ima tān jeebh vī baiṭhī chain nāal
Saramā'idārī vich zindagī dā ēhī hāal.
Ṭutṭē dadān vica jidāṁ dī hālaa jeebh dī.
Usē tar'hāṁ dē hālātān vich ih zindagī beetadī.

Such is the sporadic life.
Like a tongue between broken teeth.
It does not even move willingly.
If you move, it causes pain.
If you even move, it will injure you.
Like saying something hurts.
The customs of the world are not different.
Humans are like tongues in teeth.
The teeth are smooth and the tongue is also sitting calmly.
